About Reflexology

Would you like to improve your sense of wellbeing?  Do you have a chronic condition that you’d like to cope with a bit better?  Are you tired or stressed?  Or all of the above?

Reflexology is a holistic treatment that focuses on your feet.  It is based on the principle that every part of your body has a corresponding point or area on your feet.

At its simplest, it can help you relax.  But it can also help when you are a bit out of kilter, rebalancing your body, mind and emotions.

Reflexology can also be helpful in coping with the symptoms of a number of different conditions including:

  • Insomnia
  • Digestive issues
  • Arthritis
  • Back pain
  • PMS and menstrual cycle issues
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Migraines

Gentle support for all

Reflexology is suitable for all ages.  Its gentle nature means that it is suitable if you are recovering from an illness, operation or fracture.

Equally it can help to support you to keep well and find a peaceful oasis in the middle of your busy life.

What to expect

At the first treatment there will be time at the start to find out about you, your medical history and any current issue you would like to address.  The treatment itself involves the application of gentle pressure with the thumb or fingers to your feet.  This session normally lasts 90-120 minutes depending on your medical history.

Thereafter, further treatments will start with a review of how you have been feeling and conclude with a discussion on steps that you might like to take to improve your own wellbeing.  These will last 60 minutes.

Reflexology only requires you to remove your shoes and socks.  You will be seated either in a comfortable reclining chair or your own chair that supports your lower back, knees and ankles.
